    Default check-out issues (help!)

    When I test putting product in the shopping cart by clicking the "add this to my cart" button, and/or click "tell a friend", it goes to the advanced search page! Why is it doing this?

    If you change your template back to the stock "Classic" template that came with Zen Cart, do you still have the same problem? If not it's something you changed in your current template.

    From the product page, I get the login screen for "Tell A Friend" (as it should) button in both IE7 & FireFox.

    If you search for "test" you can add the item to your cart from the search screen.

    Thanks! You're right, something I did in customizing the template made it want to go to the search page... I have no idea what it was, but it's back to its original yucky self again:

    But now, when I click the last order step: "confirm the order", it just hangs, and doesn't do anything...

    And then, after it spins for a few minutes, I get this:

    CGI Timeout
    The specified CGI application exceeded the allowed time for processing. The server has deleted the process.

    Sounds like maybe something you should talk to your host about?

    Maybe one of the other more experienced people on this forum can help you solve these problems.

    You might consider compairing the classic template files against your custom template files... the problem of the "add to cart bug" might jump out at you.

    Actually, I checked the "orders" in the admin, and every time I clicked "confirm order", it apparently generated an order. But the customer would think that nothing is happening...and probably would keep clicking the button...

    I doubt if I'll find exactly what it was that I changed in the template that made it freak out in the first place (out of time). This is truly an arcane architecture. Don't think the open source thing is working too well. Too many cooks apparently...

    Have to go with CubeCart for this one!
