Why is my site not found when I type the www?

This is a total noob question, I'm sure, but my site only comes up when I type it in like mysite.com. When I type it in like www.mysite.com it isn't found. Why is this? TIA!

Hi I add the same problem and im sure it was to do with my config.php file in includes

look for these lines
define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.yoursite.com);
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.yoursite.com);

and make sure the www. is specified if not you will need to change it and reupload your config file and then reset your permisions

Hmm, I looked in the admin>configuration.php file and couldn't find it anywhere. Do you know around what line I can find it? Thanks!

No Includes>configure.php sorry i typed config before and its in the includes dir not admin its right near the top of the file you wont miss it

Now when I change that file, my whole site is different looking like it's not using my template, my images aren't there, my admin section won't come up, and it still doesn't come up at all when I type www.mysite.com . When I change it back to the way it was everything comes back up normally, including the admin. I know it's probably some little tweak I'm missing, but I don't know what. Anyone?

if its not found using www then contact your host,
looks like the server alias for your domain name may need to be manually altered in httpd.conf
