category dressing errors and move add to cart errors

ive tried posting this before and i get no good working responses. lets try again.

the category dressing i have followed what was said about commenting lines to have no link heading text and it doesnt work. i get a syntax error no matter what until i just have to delete the file for things to work again. so the readme does nothing. can anyone help me without referring to the readme?

the move add to cart tutorial found in the faq did nothing but mess up my site and give me ANOTHER syntax error. so without telling me to look at the tutorial OR giving me instructions from the tutorial, since that did not work again, does anyone have a working solution? btw firebug didnt help me either unfortunately.

The reason these things aren't working for you is that you are not doing them exactly according to the instructions.

More instructions probably won't help if you don't follow them correctly. And starting new threads for the same problem only confuses and frustrates those who are trying to help.
