categories alphabetical order

hi

how do u stop the categories box from being in alphabetical order for example i added
mens clothing
womens
accessories

accessories keeps coming first and want mens clothing first

The order of the category listing is determined by each category's sort order.

Go to Admin>Catalog>Categories/Products

There should be a column at the right named "Sort".

You can edit these values by clicking the Edit button in the column next to it.

are you saying ..the categories are not listed in alphabetical order in the category box on the main page?

I have to change the sort order each time I add a new category listing?

Categories are sorted by:
Sort Order, Category Name

If you do not use a Sort Order, then they would sort by Name ...
