Default Alpha Sort - Help please

I am having trouble getting the items sorted correctly on the navigation.

When you go to a product category, the items are not listed in alphabetical order.

Some are also not showing up even though they are listed in the products catalog.

And some are showing dupilicates from page 1 to page 2 etc.

I've got the admin - configuration - product info - previous next sort order set to Name

This is my cart location www.veeswan.com/Cart

Can someone please help this noob out? I've been trudging through this for days trying to figure things out and am at the point that everything is starting to look the same and I can't find the needle in the haystack. (this doesn't even count the days spent on trying to sort out the shipping which I have conceded to going with a route I am not happy with)

Very strange - sometimes the duplicates show up and sometimes they don't.

I know that having products in the Top (above your categories) can cause odd things to happen.

Have you tried turning off the alphabetical search dropdown?

Yes, I have tried turning off the alpha search dropdown and I get the same results.

Thank you for the reply. I really need to get this issue fixed so I can move on to the next :-\

The best I can figure is that the products are popping up randomly with no sort order at all even though one has been selected.

There are separate Sort Order settings on each of the listings in addition to what you have set for the Product Info page ...

Peek in the Configuration ... Product Listing ...
Display Product Listing Default Sort Order
    Product Listing Default sort order?
NOTE: Leave Blank for Product Sort Order. Sort the Product Listing in the order you wish for the default display to start in to get the sort order setting. Example: 2a
The value is based on your settings for the Products Listing ... be sure to check which value you want by testing the various sort orders and looking at the URL when on the correct Sort Order and you will see the value in the URL for the sort=#x ...

Thank you Ajeh but yes I have done this as well, I have even tried 1a through 6a and even 1d through 6d and have the same results. Every time the page is refreshed the products pop up randomly with no sort order and some duplicate and or are missing in the page 1, page 2 etc.

Something else has to be the problem but I cannot find it.

I also have the most current version btw.

Please, is there anyone that can help me with this?

I am desperate to go live with the site but I am roadblocked by this problem, its been 11 days and I'm at a dead standstill and still have many other setup issues to hash through.

With every setting I try I am still having nothing in the way of the products being displayed in alphabetical order, and they are randomly being displayed, some missing, some duplicated when you go from page to page. Also the page states 1 of 11 showing, but only random products show.. 9 of them or 10 but not 11 as it is stated.

Um ... Are you saying you don't like the fact that the centerbox entitled "New Products for June" is showing stuff in random order? That's entirely by design.

I'm not sure what else you could be referring to, because the actual normal listing of products is ... well ... not showing on your site. I suspect you've done something in your customizing that has disabled the usual product listing content.

No, I'm not referring to the "New Products for June".

When you click on a category, that has products listed, and you go to the page with those listings, they do not sort by alpha order, they sort randomly and some are missing or not showing up in the thumbs list, and when you go to the first page, then the second, on the second page (pinups for example) the products tend to repeat. So some are not showing up in this random sort order, while others are being duplicated.

The listings are showing up for me, I don't know what you are referring to being "actual normal listing of products" unless you mean the categories, but I've checked this on two different computers with two different browsers and I still get the same thing and they do show up for me.

I've tried to fix this for numerous days now and every day I am looking at it trying to find what is wrong but I cannot find it.

Here is a little more info.

This morning I tried the sort order by number in the Cartoon category, and every time I refreshed the page it STILL showed the products in random order rather than in alpha order(or number sort order because I added the sort order number in alphabetical order).
