Default Price Options: How to display actual price in dropdown

I'm setting up a store that sells a small for $5.45 and a large for $12.95. Well, in the dropdown it display the word Large for the large selector and Small -7.50 for the small selector. That's really not acceptable as I think it'll confuse the audience. I would prefer it to display the actual price for the item. Isn't there a module or script that can accomplish this? I just looked at the Zen modules and couldn't find anything.

You should change your products to "Product Priced by Attributes" with no price set.

Then, in the attributes controller, set the price for each drop down.

Remember to add "Please Select the Size" as the default and display item. That way, a customer has to select what size they are ordering.

OK, I think I got it. Check this page out:

One more question. How do I lose the shipping weight in the listing?

Change the weight display in the Admin under Configuration >> Product Listing.

You mean the 'Display Product Weight' row? It's already set to 0. But the weight is still being displayed.

I've already got Display Product Weight set to 0. But the weight still shows up.

A little off topic but I looked at your site in Firefox and it is wide with the product beside the top section but in IE 7 it is ok.
I wonder though if it would be better to use radio buttons for the choice rather than drop down if that is an option in ZC.
I am looking at this because I am thinking about using Zen Cart for my site when I move it off Stores Online.

Hi, I know it's an old thread ... i followed the above quote and it does what i was looking for ,,, basically i wanted the real price of the item beside the size in my dropdown menu instead of stating how much more the customer has to add to the base price for the next available size, etc ... too confusing i think ... anyway the only problem is in the actual product listing i have no price showing up and in product info the display for the product price i now just have "starting at:" and no price because the default in the dropdown is set to "please select a size" and value 0 ... is my only option now to completely make my site with no prices displaying or am i still setting it up wrong ? any help .. and thank you !

Using the example earlier in this thread, you could start your product at the "Small" price, have the small selection set to 0.00 in the added price area, and have the "Large" show a + 5.00.
You would still use the Pleas Select ######## it would have .00 as well.
