Default Could use a little help with install

I figured out to create a new sql database, username and generated a password.

Now I am in my Fantastico in my host CP.

I am not sure what goes in the "Install in directory" box.

Also not sure what to place in the two "Admin access data" boxes.

Also not entirely sure if I leave what is showing in the Base configuration site name box.

I sort of got the impression that I was going to be using the name of the new database I created and also thought would be using the password that was generated too.

Must be wrong because none of the boxes will accept the entire string of digits if in fact I am suppose to use the new database name in the "install directory name" box and same with the "Admin access data" boxes. Neither of them will accept the username I assigned to the new database nor will the password box accept the password that was generated.

Whew....... Hope that came out righ!

Installing ZenCart via Fantastico is NOT good idea.
You will have problems further down zencart road.
IF you must install this way, then you do not need to create
database, Fantastico does it on install.
I am not sure what goes in the "Install in directory" box.
You can use store or shop or whatever you wish there.

    Hi Misty,

I found this and was using it as a guide.

I do not know id I have to install this way. I do have access to my host CP.

There is someone else on the forum helping with this as I am typing.

Waiting to see what they think.

I guess while I have you here, is there a link to show the way you suggest is best for the install?

Also, what should I do about the new database I created? Should I delete it as long as the other person looking does not end up using it?

Thats weird. Not sure what just happened to the post I just did..... Oh well..

    So Misty,

I was sort of forced to create the additional database, username, and it also forced me to generate a password when I tried to use the install.

    Am I confused.. ??

Also, the base configuration box has me concerned. If I leave it as it is, it has my domain name in there. I already have that assigned to my Wordpress blog

Your webhosting company, who provide Fantastico, should
have tutorials/and or guidelines for using this facility.

    Thanks Misty......

Installing ZenCart via Fantastico is NOT good idea.
Take the plunge and install it yourself..not difficult if you have
CPanel...only need to upload zip file to newly created folder,
and using CPanel, extract zip contents.
You will be glad you took this route, when later zencart issues are
released..upgrading via Fantastico will produce disaster.

So simply upload the zip file for the theme I have picked out to the newly created database?

If that is correct, then will do it right now.

Heck, guess the worst that can happen is will have to remove anything I mess up!

Slow down... have you installed zencart program yet?
Installing themes/templates comes after program install.
