I have and this is their reply.
I have double-checked the configure.php files, checked the server zone files for your domain, and checked the error log - and nothing untoward shows in any of them.

Whatever problem you have is with the coding of your website and I would recommend that you specifically look at the Google Checkout module itself and its implementation.

first totally uninstall the google checkout mod in the admin

    then re-install it.,

if server is running php as cgi then you need to follow the setup for that procedure...

as long as there is an ssl ( dedicated or shared ) then you will be fine....

also the ssl would not have an effect on the layout like that...

I will try that, the only other thing I can think of is I have installed reward points full suite MOD and in there is a googlecheckout.php file included in this download.
This is NOT in the googlecheckout folder but in the html folder that holds the folders that run zencart (Ie admin, includes, docs etc)
I'm wondering if this may be causing the issue (although googlecheckout uses the gcheckout.php file in the GC folder)

I have uninstalled and reinstalled through the Admin/Payment module and still the same thing is happening.
I have no idea what you mean by the server running PHP as CGI, do I check this in Admin/tools/server information?

PHP does run as a CGI on our servers, but that has never caused any problems with any Zen Cart site.

I should point out that one of the problems here was a renamed Google Checkout function file in the extra_functions folder which was called in as well as the newly edited file and caused a PHP Fatal Error.

    Vger that post is misleading.
I had the problem, no-one was helping, so I tried to reupload all the google checkout files to make sure none of them were corrupted.
I then accidently put one in the wron place which then caused the PHP fatal error.
TerraNetwork thankfully helped me out and reloaded a previous backup that cleared this error but I still have this Google Checkout problem.

I have now tried the following.

    1. I have opened in my web-browser the googlecheckout/responsehandler.php file, I then get asked for a username & password (A user name and password are being requested by http://www.candlewithcare.co.uk. The site says: "Google checkout Basic Authentication")
I have tried every possible user name & password I can imagine - Including my Google merchant ID & key and it will not open.

    2. I have looked at the .HTaccess file in Googlecheckout/logs folder and found this

    # $Id: .htaccess 2856 2007-06-08 00:42:19Z Ropu $
    #
    # This is used with Apache WebServers
    # The following blocks direct HTTP requests in this directory recursively
    #
    # This will prevent access to logs from the web

    <Files *.log>
    Order Deny,Allow
    Deny from all
    Allow from localhost
    </Files>

1.That is correct...you are NOT meant to enter username and
    password.
    2. Test in sandbox mode first..SSL not required.
    then
    3. Test in Live mode...SSL cert approved by Googlecheckout
    is required.

    **Update**
I have just installed Paypal Express Checkout instead of using the Paypal IPN and the google checkout button is now appearing in the shopping cart.
However.....it only appears in any products I have added since the move from my old hosting company.
These products are virtual (Gift vouchers) and have no shipping.
I have added a new test item with a weight and no checkout button.
It now looks to me like it could be a shipping configuration issue within Google Checkout.
