Default Shipping table - set delivery costs based on the amount of spend?

    Hi,

Can anyone tyell me if there is a set way of entering information in the shipping table fuction, to enable me to set delivery costs based on the amount of spend (see example below), I have tried amending the examples given to suit my purpose but when customers use the estimate shipping function a radom cost is generated.

Example £1.00 up to £5.00:£2.50, £5.01 up to £10.00:£3.50, and so on.

I have set the shipping method to work on price variances and not weight variances. But after entering the desired delivery charge for the various order total ranges (see above), when I check that it works correctly as if I were a customer using the shipping estimator function, it throws up the wrong delivery charge for the cost of the order in question.

Any advice would be most welcome.

    Regards

What are the exact settings that you set on the rates?

    HI,

Thanks for responding to my question. The information I entered in the shipping rates section (based on the example given) is listed below.

    £1.00 up to £5.00:£2.50, £5.01 up to £10.00:£3.50, £10.01 upto £24.99:£4.00

I seleted the price function and set the weight box to 0. But when I tested the shipping estimator as if I was placing an order, it displayed the wrong delivery charge for the total spend entered. I am currently using the flate rate function for all orders regardless of customer spend, resulting in me either under or over charging for postage.

Any help would be most appreciated.

    Kind Regards

If that is exactly what you have setup, then it is incorrect ...

    The instructions are:
The shipping cost is based on the total cost or weight of items or count of the items. Example: 25:8.50,50:5.50,etc.. Up to 25 charge 8.50, from there to 50 charge 5.50, etc
You can also use percentage amounts, such 25:8.50,35:5%,40:9.50,10000:7% to charge a percentage value of the Order Total
What do you want to happen after 24.99? If you do not set something it will go to 0.00 ...
