Default Re: Stock by Attributes 5.0 Beta (for v1.5.0)

That is working now....once a started a new session the stock quantities for the out of stock attribute is working when Configuration > Stock > "Show available stock level in cart when less than order" is set to true.

But I wonder if the old coding that provided that feature to not show the attributes that are out of stock in SBA is overriding my admin setting to show them?

Is there a way to mass populate to SBA?

If you are upgrading you should be able to retain your attributes and stock by importing the stock by attributes table into the new database

If you are looking for a way to batch populate your store look through the forum for a tool called "easy populate"

I am not upgrading, I am using Zen 1.5.1.

I already am using EP4, from what I understand it does not populate Stocks for Attribute tables. Which easy populate are you using?

    I'm not...it is just a best-guess solution.

I don't think any of the easy populate plugins would interact with SBA tables.

Now that I have completely finished all my installations, you are right:
I think you can hit the "search" button again when the textbox is empty and it will show all your items.

Yes when you delete an order it should sync back all attribute quantities. It never worked in prior versions of SBA, but I addressed that issue in this version.

The edit orders mod itself is entirely separate, so it wasn't coded to restock quantities by attributes. That would require editing the code in the edit orders mod files itself, rather than anything to do with SBA files.
In the old store, you could NOT check out with insufficient stock. Now you can with only the warning to give the customer a heads up....no available stock quantity is showing. Now that I'm done with my installations that feature does not work, even with it selected in Admin >Conf > Stock.

I am still hesitant to go live with my nice shiny new 1.5.1 shop for this reason but I just have to risk it and try a fix later as we've been down too long.

I believe it has something to do with the order in which I imported the old db as this was working during my test install. I could not run the db upgrade on my old server so I ran it on the new and I've been round and round uninstalling, re-installing the SBA sql and reimporting my db tables trying to get that to work.

I'm tempted to go back to my old SBA version. You are a new zenner? so you don't know if the old ones are compatible. The code looks very similar. Really hate going back to the drawing board. So tired of this mod but it so essential to running a modern cart.

Well..i guess some of these changes need time to propagate somehow...someway....

Because it is working on the store side after testing and retesting....things just started kicking in ????

ANY WHO....WE CAN GO LIVE WITH 1.5.1 YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No I've been running zen-cart since it's 1.3.9h days so I'm not that new. But I think the issues you're experiencing are more likely due to other configurations that may or may not have been carried over properly since it sounds like you're having some issues with the database upgrading.

But it also sounds like you've got it all sorted out now

Our second day live and I'm seeing something new.

Weird how things take time to propagate...

So finally, last night, the low stock warnings were showing and the chosen attribute was showing in the shopping cart.

Today, with a real order, the customer chose an attribute and it did not show in the cart. He had the foresight to tell us in the comments what he wanted.

Also, we just had show up that cool drop down indicated of the attributes that are out of stock right on the product page!

NOW..only if it would carry over the the shopping cart!

Could this have to do with my settings under Admin > Configuration > Stock? I swear this was working yesterday.

    Here is what I have:

    Check stock level true
Product Info Single Attribute Display Plugin single_dropdown
Product Info Multiple Attribute Display Plugin sequenced_dropdowns
    Subtract stock true
    Allow Checkout false
Mark product out of stock *Low Stock*
    Stock Re-order level 0
Show available stock level in cart when less than order true
    Display Images in Admin false
Disable drop down menu when stock equals zero true
Products status in Catalog when out of stock should be set to 1
Show Out of Stock Attributes True
Show Sold Out Image in place of Add to Cart 1
    Product Quantity Decimals 0
Show Shopping Cart - Delete Checkboxes or Delete Button 3
Mark Out of Stock Attributes Left
Show Shopping Cart - Update Cart Button Location 3
Show New Products on empty Shopping Cart Page 1
Display Out of Stock Message Line True
Show Featured Products on empty Shopping Cart Page 2
Show Special Products on empty Shopping Cart Page 3
Show Upcoming Products on empty Shopping Cart Page 4
Show Notice of Combining Shopping Cart on Login 1
Prevent Adding Out of Stock to Cart True
