Is Paypal Express Plugin still valid?

I have an older version of ZC v1.6.5c that I just upgraded to v2.1.0. I see a Paypal Express payment module but the version number says: (PayPal Express Checkout (rev1.5.8). I am not sure if this module came built in with ZC v2.1.0, or if a leftover in my database from my older installation.

Is this Paypal Express (rev1.5.8) still valid with ZC v2.1.0? or has it been discontinued, and I need to look for another Paypal checkout option. Please advise.

Note that the PayPal Express Checkout payment module is still shipped with the Zen Cart core.

OK I deleted the Paypal Express Checkout to try the Paypal Checkout (Restful) however the restful does NOT offer quick checkout option. Going back to install the default Paypal Express Checkout if I can find it. LOL. Should have just kept it even though it said v1.5.8

Please note that PayPal announced the deprecation of the API used by Express in 2023. It is scheduled for EOL in early 2026.

Going with Restful and One Page Checkout should work well enough for your customers. Restful also helps in the fact it presents using a CC on the checkout page.

Meanwhile, use Express just for the button on the shopping cart.
