    Default please help me!

I'm trying to set up the email and I've tried 2 different accounts, my gmail account with pop enabled and my earthlink account and neither have worked when sending test messages through the contact us part of the site, can someone help me?

Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

Who is your host? What are the email settings they recommend? What are all of the settings you have in Admin> Configuration> Email Settings?

the smtp host for the gmail account is :
    smtp.gmail.com
    username :[email protected]
password : password is entered correctly and i've verified that
    port: 465
i've tried it with setting smtp and smtpauth and still doesn't go through, i don't get any error and it says that it's been sent, and the email archive manager verifies that; however they're never received

I have struggled to set up email on 2 different sites and ended up emailing mu hosting co after which it started miraculously working, I suspect something needs doing at their end.

Zen-Cart defaults to using email on the host server. Host, in this case, means the box your site is on. You would need to make several changes to the system in order to use GMail, HotMail, or some other email. Besides, it is much more professional looking having mail come from [email protected] than alfie120947##################

You did not really answer Kim's question but, try using:

    E-Mail Transport Method PHP
    E-Mail Linefeeds CRLF
Use MIME HTML When Sending Emails true
    Send E-Mails true
    Email Archiving Active? true
    E-Mail Friendly-Errors false
Email Address (Displayed to Contact you) [email protected]
    Email Address (sent FROM) yoursite.com <[email protected]>
Emails must send from known domain? Yes
    Email Admin Format? HTML
