google checkout and zencart - we changed it

i have tried to integrate zencart and google checkout but noticed google checkout cant calculate shipping correctly. so we have written custom code that actually places the google checkout after zencart has calculated the product and shipping price and now it works fine...has anyone else done this?

hi ok so it seems there is interest in this so let me compose together what exactly we changed...it was several files...ill post it in a few of days...

What version of Google Checkout is this for? The new version (1.4.5 and .6) is supposed to handle shipping by it self.

i think it was 1.3 something definitely not 1.4 ...I downloaded that version several months ago and it never could calculate shipping right...


....if the new one does I guess the problem is solved...

Well, take a look at the new one to be sure. I just didn't want you to have to go to all the trouble of writing the instructions for your code and clean up.

One reason being is that you have to uninstall the old GC Code in order to install the updated code.

They better have this thing out of beta before they start charging for it. haha.

Don't worry though. Everything you do to customize your site will help when you start your mod writing, which I fully expect you to start by the end of the year.

ok wait...so everyone knows about google checkout shipping problems right?

so did they fix that in the latest google checkout v1.4 i think?

i don't really wanna upgrade because my cart works fine with the custom code...

I don't know, since I've screwed up my site so bad trying to install it i couldn't tell you if it worked or not. ha.

Send me your code, and I'll compare it to the new gc on another site.
