Just another Cross-Sell mod (support thread)

I know a lot of people are struggling with this. This is what I did to get it working.

Installed Zen Cart v1.3.8.a
Installed Module Manager rev 15
Installed Cross Sell - Just Another Cross Sell Mod rev 186

When I was finished and clicked to install new modules (tools > module manager) nothing happened so I used the SQL Query Executor (tools > install sql patches) to run the required sql myself (0.sql,1.sql,2.sql located in admin\includes\module_installation\ri_jaxs\db). When I was finished everything worked perfectly.

I was having issues with the Cross Sell mod until I followed what pawlik did above... Now it works very well!

I just installed this and i got this error

Fatal error: Class 'yclass' not found in /home2/pwcforum/public_html/admin/includes/functions/extra_functions/xsell_advanced.php on line 18

Hi All

I just installed this as pawlik did.. when I go into admin/tools/module manager... I click on list all modules I get this --

1 ri_jaxs 1 Revision 185 update
2 modules -1 Revision 185 update

when I click update on 1 ri_jaxs nothing happens... when I click update on 2 modules I get this answer--

Error Version number found in current_version.txt is not a positive integer

When I click on install new modules I get this error--

/home/*****/public_html/******/includes/module_installation/module_manager/current_version.txt is missing
Error Module version could not be found in file and database

Any help appreciated many thx

Hi All

After posting the above, even though I get those errors in the admin section, I've set up some cross sells and it seems to be working fine fingers and toes crossed will keep testing though..site is not live yet so time will tell..

Hello, I use cross sell to sell my other products, I have it customized. I used it for my attributes. I am trying to adventure off expanding this a little more. Is it possible to code this follow:
To be able to take the first sort order number (the least number) and have that price displayed on the main products page. And if there is no cross sell with that main item just to show the regular price and not hide it. Confussing I know.
Try to explain it better, how it currently works
Item 1 Red Tshirt $2.99 (set as the main item)
it is cross sold with:
Red TShirt Small (sort order 1) $2.99
Red TShirt Medium (sort order 2) $3.99
So what I want it to do is say Red TShirt Small is no longer available when I update my database...
I would like it to take the price in the of the next sort order
so the main item: Red Tshirt set it to $3.99
Because sort order 1 is no longer available it ill take the price of sort order 2 which is $3.99.. so if a cross sell is set to an item it hide the main products actual price and takes it cross the least sort order. I tried to explain as good as I can if someone could simply what I am trying to say please feel free to.

Have found a different version ( alpha2 rev 65 ) which I have got working okay.

I have been having problems with my site being really slow and my host thinks that my database is too large. The very large part of my db is the xsell table. I am using the Advanced Cross Sell addon as well. Is there any way to mitigate this? I really want this addon but don't want a slow site either. Thanks!

Sorry for the OT question, but how big is your database? I've always wondered at what point it would start to affect performance but I've not see it on our sites yet.

My xsell table has 118,516 entries at 4.2MiB. That's That's 75% of my entries and 26% of my size. My banner history is huge so I think I'm going to empty that. I'm really trying to get lean and mean! Any advice is welcome :)
