Link Manager 3.0 Support Thread

It was this one Clyde. I don't know how it got mess up. I took the old one from my backup store 1.3.8a and uploaded it. It worked Thanks for your help Clyde.

My test zen is 1.3.9 and I just installed the lastest version of the Links manager. I have searched through the threads for my particular problem and I am not seeing it anywhere.

For whatever reason, I do NOT have a Links under the Extras tab. I made sure all the files are correct and they seem to all match correctly. I have the admin>config>links manager just fine. Just not the admin>extras>Links --- PLEASE HELP ! LOL

Beyond that, the sql patch loaded wonderfully with NO errors (plus) and I had not problem FTP-ing the other files. All went smooth. Even turning on the Links Sidebox went perfect. I just have not control of anything because it isn't in under EXTRAS

make sure you've uploaded the following files to your admin directory

admin/link_categories.php
admin/links.php
admin/links_contact.php
admin/includes/boxes/extra_boxes/links_extras_dhtml.php
admin/includes/extra_datafiles/links_manager.php
admin/includes/functions/extra_functions/links_manager.php
admin/includes/languages/english/links.php
admin/includes/languages/english/link_categories.php
admin/includes/languages/english/links_contact.php
admin/includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/links.php

Thanks, Clyde, for getting back to me so quickly! I rechecked ... AGAIN ... to verify that all admin files were uploaded and they are all spoken and accounted for. Is there something in the SQL patch that would mess it up? Or should I resend it? As I said, it is listed under the Config tab just not the Extras tab. This is baffling needless to say. Should I uninstall and start over? as time consuming as that is, I can try. I don't think there is an issue with my server -- I've had not problems installing other Zen mods for testing this past week.

the sql patch has nothing to do with the other files that should be in the YOUR_ADMIN folder

Try re-uploading the files I listed above to YOUR_ADMIN folder

I actually did that after I sent my reply and still no luck! still Not listed under the Extras. I've done your suggestions before you replied and after you replied and I still have the same result. My databases are in tact -- checked that. ALL files are accounted for -- checked that about 4 times now ;) I am stumped, as I am sure you are too -- This is crazy nuts LOL

under the extras tab it means that one or more of the listed files is missing in the admin directory

Awesome ... great ... again, I have told you in ALL my posts that I have made sure ALL files in ADMIN were uploaded --- not sure what you are not getting here ... I have uploaded all the files AVAILABLE in the zipped file in the modules section of ZENCART for the LATEST version of your mod. So either something is missing from those folders in the zipped folder provided or something is not correctly coded in the files themselves. in the ADMIN folder I have links.php, I have link_catagories.php and I have links_contact.php; then I have links_extras_dhtml.php in the \includes\boxes\extra_boxes\; I have links_manager.php in \includes\extra_datafiles\; I have links_manager.php in \includes\functions\extra_functions\; I have links.php, I have link_catagories.php and I have links_contact.php in \includes\languages\english\; I have links.php in \includes\languages\english\extra_definitions\; All this is what is in the ADMIN folder in the zipped file on the mods page for Links Manager. So unless there is something else i am missing, and there is nothing other than the obvious that you have pointed out that i have already done on more than enough times, then I am going to have to uninstall it and probably not use it.

Its a great mod, but if it isn't working for me then it isn't worth the headache. and if I am the only person this has happened to and there clearly is nothing that you can help me with, then really it is not worth the headache this is giving me.

Please forgive the sarcastic undertone, as I feel like you think you are talking to someone who is a totally moron when it comes to uploading files. I'm not a complete moron, I've been building websites for 10 years and I am currently learning php and javascript. I've been using FTP for as long as I have been using Zen cart -- which is over 4 years now. I've used many modules over those 4 years and I have never had them not work outside of the norm bugs, coding, etc errors. and I cannot tell you how many times I have ruined test carts.

Okay for anyone who is forgetful, the reason I could not get the links under the EXTRA tab is because I changed the name of my admin folder --- Like Zen askes you with the new 1.3.9 ---- DUH moment! LOL all is working wonderfully now!
