Link Manager 3.0 Support Thread

Okay for anyone who is forgetful, the reason I could not get the links under the EXTRA tab is because I changed the name of my admin folder --- Like Zen askes you with the new 1.3.9 ---- DUH moment! LOL all is working wonderfully now!

Just some Suggestions for the next version ;)

I've been playing around with this since yesterday. Good think I know how to work a style sheet LOL When you click on "View All Links" - depending on how you set it up in the admin > config and dependent on the size of images used, you could get an unbalance of your links. I prefer 3 accross, but even after setting up the image sizes in the configuration, I still got a 3, 2, 3 table going on. It was an easy fix for me -- I just went into the customized CSS folder where I have the links.css file and added a height element to the linkstext class. That fixed that problem just fine.

Also, for adding images, you might want to find an easier way to add them. Maybe instead of using the method available, use the "browse" method instead. Makes life a LOT easier for those adding links from both the front end and the admin end. Also under Extras > Links Catagories there is not way to delete the image if you so chose. You have to delete it directly from the folder you put it in or delete it all together and start over.

Just some things I found playing around with the Links Manager.

It is a good module. I am happy with it. I know zen-cart like the back of my hand since I've been using it so long, as well as being a web designer, I know how to fix things. However, these suggestions I have made will make life a lot easier for those that don't have a clue or are just starting to use Zen, much less adding modules to their site.

You can turn the display of the banner field on the links submit form in admin -> configuration -> links manager ->Show Banner Image Field (set to false)

I will take a look at the admin side and see whether or not I'll have to re-write some of the code to handle this.

The only possibility for that would be adding the following to links.css

.col1 {display:none;}

However, that will cause every image to NOT display and not just the links_default.jpg

another possibility would be to create a new transparent links_default.(png or gif)

save it to images/links_image/

then in admin -> configuration -> links manager -> Default Link Banner Image (change the setting to the name of your new links_default.(png or gif)
