No goods display in centre of mainpage

Hi, I am a noob. I have zen cart 1.5.5f installed with responsive classic template. I used to be a cobol programmer, so this fancy stuff is a bit new to me, but logically, I can almost understand.

I got rid of the default zen cart information. I did have newly added products there but didnt want that since everything is newly added. I have had covid in middle of set-up so brain got a bit mushy for a while.

I have poked around in the configuration menu, but cannot make anything appear. I did amend my side boxes.

/public_html/includes/languages/english/html_includes/responsive_classic/define_main_page.php - I have amended that, from admin but the text isnt showing up. It is saved in the file though.

Some guidance would be appreciated.
