GCO will not be able to add customers to your zen-cart database or change your inventory without a SSL certificate on your website. This is different than the PayPal module, which does not require that your website have a SSL certificate. Without an SSL certificate, GCO will only work to "level 1" integration, which means the order is passed to Google, the customer will pay, you will get an email from Google saying they paid, but your inventory will not be reduced, nor the customer information added to your zen-cart database. If you don't know if you have a SSL certificate, you probably don't, because this is something you would have purchased separately from your web host, or a third party, like GoDaddy. The good news is that your webhost may offer shared SSL certificates, which can work with GCO. Even if you have a SSL, certificate, google will not be able to talk your zen-cart unless all the paths, keys, permissions, etc. are correctly specified.

I don't know what the problem is that you describe, but my advice is to read print the "README" and "INSTALLATION" files that come with GCO when you unzipped it, and go through or repeat each step of the directions and put a check mark next to each task you are 100% sure you completed correctly. If you do not know what something means, you cannot guess, you have to research that step to get it right. There is a section titled "MOST COMMON MISTAKES" -read that. You should also log into your Google merchant account, and read the error logs [tools][integration console] and also make sure the integration settings [integration][setting] are correct (merchant key, website landing page after order, etc.)

For others reading this thread and considering GCO module, in a nutshell, here is what is involved to use this module: 1) first carefully read the "README" and "INSTALLATION" files when you unzip the module. If the directions look beyond your skill level, reconsider, or accept a longer haul. 2) upload your GCO module to the correct directories, to match all the zen-cart customizations and override directories you created, 3) set up a GCO merchant account with a bank account at the Google website and correctly fill in all the integration fields at your Google Merchant account to match your zen-cart GCO module, and vice-versa. 3) Log onto your web-site provider and purchase or upload a SSL certificate, make sure the files and directories have the correct permissions as specified in the readme and installation files. Finally, if you can understand and modify html and php code, you can further tweak the zen-cart pages and add info clarifying the checkout process if you want to get fancy.
