Hi,

Just my three cents, but since this module is flexible enough to allow you to create custom URIs with your own custom value, what can't you simply create the URI at the time you create the product witht he model included in the URI???

That is indeed what should be done.

I think Conor has made it clear he won't be putting any time or effort into custom variations for how the module generates the URIs..

I wasn't saying that, I may add that functionality in the future.. however I won't ever support the creation of an autogenerated name based on the category path and product name when two products in the same category have the same name. The ability to append the model code may be added but it's not a high priority as, as yo rightly point out, people don't have to use autogenerated URIs, they can enter their own if they want this kind of behaviour at this time.
