    HI again.. another update... hopefully someone can help me... I've figure out the issue with the categories. Meaning they are loading my homepage casue i really don't use categories, meaning i don't ahve setup anything in the categories or define them as a matter of fact i really don't use them. My sell page jsut load another page using the direct link form the product . So i think that the solution to my problem is to somehow disable sitemaxml and default zencart sitemap to actualy show any categories.
    Can you guys please let me know how to do this... Thank you in advance

    Hi,
    I have installed the Sitemap XML and it works perfectly.
    Thanks!!
    I have also set a cron job using cronless and I get the sitemaps updated regularly.
    The only thing I do not know how to do is to auto submit the files to the search engines. I can submit them with no problem manually, but I would like to have a automatic submission using a cron job.
    Can this be done? If yes, how?
    Thanks
    enzo

    help question Re: SitemapXML v.2

    Hi, I tried searching for an answer to this but found nothing.

    I'm just preparing to upgrade from Zen Cart v1.3.7 to the latest v1.3.9h, and I currently have Google Sitemap v1.3.13 installed.

    Do I need to uninstall my current version of Google Sitemap before I upgrade Zen Cart and if so, how?

    Default Yahoo Ping URL

    I am unable to successfully submit a sitemap to yahoo. After doing a search online I found they are discontinuing this service as of March 2011. If you are able to submit a sitemap to yahoo, what ping URL are you using?

    Hello,

    I tried a lot to create sitemap using this one..but not working at all. It generated sitemap for me till I had 80K products and when I went to more than 170K it stopped working saying mysql ran out of memory...

    Did almost everything on mysql and NGINX to make it work after that..no matter how much memory or read/write timeout adjust...it will simply not work.

    Any idea what we can do?

    I used the sitemap generator at www.xml-sitemap.com to generate a site map for my site. I was just wondering what was the difference between that and the mod being offered here. Thanks for any help you can offer.

    XML document must have a top level element. Error processing resource 'http://www.mydomain.com/sitemapreviews.xml'.

    Any one know what this mean.

    also where do you add the fix for the EZpages. sitemapxml_ezpages
    and the nofollow-reciprocity my web site is weezeesgifts
    I get this error on all of the generated sitemaps when viewed in a browser. However, I can view source and see my perfectly formed XML, so this really puzzles me. I've also validated the resulting XML elsewhere and no problems found.
    Example:
    http://www.truesolutions.com/sitemapproducts.xml

    All I can figure is that the XSL stylesheet definition at the very top is somehow invalid:

    <?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="includes/templates/template_default/css/gss.xsl"?>

    I did copy the installation files that went into the /template_default folder into my custom template folder, but it seems to still refer to the ones in template_default.
    Is the path out of whack or something?

    Thanks,
    Steve

    What version of zen cart are you using?

I recommend updating this sitemap every time you make any changes to your categories, products, meta tags, or anything else in your website. The search engines respond more and place a higher value on your content when you are pinging them with updated sitemaps as it shows that the site's content is actively changing and isn't static.

    I think that you are confusing this with the zen cart sitemap that is displayed on your site for visitors to quickly find what they are looking for.

    Try opening other .xml files in the root of your store and they will display, if there is some content.

    Here is why this addon won't work with zencart. You don't need to move anything anywhere or do anyother hack except to change the .htaccess file under your "includes" folder.

    /web-site-root/includes/.htacess

    on line 26 you will find:
    <FilesMatch ".*\.(js|JS|css|CSS|jpg|JPG|gif|GIF|png|PNG|swf|SWF)$">

    Change the line to:
    <FilesMatch ".*\.(js|JS|css|CSS|jpg|JPG|gif|GIF|png|PNG|swf|SWF|xsl|XSL)$">

    You are by doing that allowing the filetypes *.xsl and *.XSL to be accessed by an external browser.

    My .htaccess version is:
    # @version $Id: .htaccess 16111 2010-04-29 22:39:02Z drbyte $
    So perhaps that is why on zencart 1.38 it works and not on the newer 1.3.9a.

    drbyte is working some late hours, send him some coffee :)

    MODERATOR NOTE: xsl has been added to the .htaccess for v1.3.9f and newer.
    Is your site Upgraded to the current version 1.5.4 Yet?

    Thanks countrycharm!

    The .htaccess tweak did the trick for me.

    Oh, and my ZC version is 1.3.9.e
