Product Extra Fields for text, pdfs and flash

Hi Delia,

I'm still having this problem.

1146 Table 'newmedia_zc8.zen_product_extra_description_extra' doesn't exist
newmedia_zc8 is the database name, zen is the table prefix.

I have access to phpmyadmin, I'm just not sure what to rename the table to?

When I looked at that closer I realized there's something majorly wrong there.

There is no TABLE_PRODUCT_EXTRA_DESCRIPTION_EXTRA in this mod.

How did you install this? Did you just use the files in the zip package or did you try to merge files?

i just uses the files in this mod but I had tried Extra Description product mod. Looks like the error comes from that one. I must have left some of those files on the server. I'll remove those and try again. I'll let you know, thanks.

I am trying to use this mod along with easy populate. When i upload the product data through easy populate the products show on the site but since i have installed 'products Extra Fields' the product is empty in admin. The categories and products are listed in admin but when i go to edit a product all the fields are empty. Would you have any ideas why that would happen? Both of these mods were working seperatly.

Hi Delia,

Thank you for this WONDERFUL mod! I have a quick question that I cannot figure out for the life of me...I uploaded the SQL you supplied - just added the Zen prefix. When I add a new product everything is fine and it updates with no problem, but if I go to edit the product and go to save changes I get the following error:

1062 Duplicate entry '3' for key 1
in:
[insert into zen_product_extra_fields (products_id, extra_field, file_1, file_2, file_3, file_4, file_1_title, file_2_title, file_3_title, file_4_title) values ('3', 'fdfdfdffdsfdsfdfdfdsfdsttttttttttt', 'test.pdf', null, null, null, 'tytytytytyt', null, null, null)]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.


I cannot figure out why it will not let me add additional PDF's or do any edit once the product is in there?

Any thoughts of something i am blatantly missing here?!?!

This happened the first time you tried to edit a product? That message tells me something has definitely gone wrong. Contact via pm and I'll take a look at it.

Yes I only have 2 products in the store...it is an advanced site I am working on so doing a lot of coding and testing...usually I can figure these things out but I am stumped on this one....

Thanks for this mod. I just installed it and it seems to be working.

Does the Extra Text Field have to be a large text box? I actually need to enter a 2nd Model Number (Part Number). So just need a short text input box. Is this possible?

Also, would there be a way to link to YouTube videos instead of uploading flash? I know I can cut and paste the embed code, but I would rather have it entered as a field.

I wish to use the extra text field for suggested age for my product....Childrens products - eg age 3.

How do I get the advance search to pick up this field and allow a search by age similar to the search by price?
