Avonlee Contempo Template Support Thread

First of all, thank you for making such a beautiful template available. I'm hoping that once things are up and running I can send some love (cash) back your way for your contribution.

I have gone over everything several times, paying special attention to the layout settings and everything is working except one thing: I can't see the left column at all. I have doublechecked my installation, and everything appears to be in order.

Thank you so much. I *thought* that I had carefully followed all the steps, but there are a lot, and I missed this one. After seeing the site after doing that I only have one word: WOW!

And I mean WOW WOW! The site looks even more beautiful than I thought it would. Your design is tremendous and it fits my purposes so well. I am so grateful, and once I'm up and running, I'll be in touch with you to talk about more work.

Love the design, great work. I had it installed and it looked great. I then started to go through the install.txt and somewhere after resetting the sidebars and doing the admin settings, I now have a right purple column with different side bars and a blue bar that I cannot get to go away anymore. I have deleted everything and reinstalled and it still comes up. I have gone through the install.txt file multiple times from the beginning and nothing seems to get rid of it. Do you have a screenshot of what the "Column Boxes avonlee_contempo" screen is suppose to look like? Maybe a setting in there is changed from default that I'm not getting right.

I'll keep digging, but any help would be appreciated.

Changing the background can be easily done via the stylesheet.css

Hi All

I was having serious probs with my Easy Slider freezing on the homepage. It would work on my coworker's PC, not mine, mine at home, not my laptop, etc. I was constantly clearing my cache and that would only fix it sometimes.

I added a PVII tab control (nice!!!) and Tabbed Prods Pro. My test EZ Page with Easy Slider and the PVII tab stopped dead. The slider images would stack up and just stop, it never snapped together.

Anyway, this is just to say, if anyone is having issues with the Slider there's a great fix in this thread: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showpo...&postcount=248

Turns out that when you pile on enough jscripts they can interfere with each other. Load order makes the difference between fast execution and a frozen page. That post shows a method to move jscript into a php file. I did it and MAN what a difference in performance. Not just the slider, but all my jscript is practically flying.

I love Avonlee! thanks so much for it. This is just in case someone using Avonlee needs to fix a lag. I think this method should be in the readme of every jscript-using Zen mod. As well as in the reame_jscript.

The problem is the jscript_easySlider.js is being loaded before the jscript_jquery.js file hence the error

to solve this I copied the contents of the jscript_easySlider.js file into a new file (you need the enclose it within the script tag ie <script>contents of the jscript_easySlider.js</script> name this new file jscript_easySlider.php and upload it to /includes/modules/pages/index
Now go back and delete the original jscript_easySlider.js from includes/templates/yourtemplate/jscript
It sould now work without any errors as the jscript_jquery.js is now loading first
