Also, you'll notice the size and position of the header sales text is vastly different depending on which browser you view it with.

You can display the estimator without the popup by changing the setting(s) in

admin -> configuration ->Shipping/Packaging -> Shipping Estimator Display Settings for Shopping Cart (set to 2)

Since we cannot remove that background, I guess that will have to do. Any idea on the sales text message in the header?
As a tip, reducing the length of such things as "UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE" in the payment module keeps the total screen alignment from skewing.

try opening

includes/templates/comstock/css/ie_stylesheet.css

delete the following:

That did make it look like it does in other browsers, BUT I liked it better the IE way! Any way to make it look like IE in other browsers?

just been going through a check of my stores shopping cart and when I got to the estimate shippng I got this

Alos in IE the headers all messed up looks ok in fire fox though
