My hosting webpage says: "All HostGator shared webhosting, reseller, and VPS accounts run on CentOS Linux x86, which is identical to Red Hat Enterprise Linux."
I have a vps account which is a dedicated server.

Sandi,
At the very top of your config.php make sure the first line after <?php is
include_once('includes/config_sites/sites_switch.php');
If your define('HTTP_SERVER' or define('HTTPS_SERVER' is before that statement then all of the site's links no matter the domain, will be the defined links.
Noppie,
"Ok Now I understand why other people posting on these boards get so upset..
the answer is in this forum.."
I'm not sure what you are implying here, but I have spent hours over a period of several days reading these post here. I've even read some of your posts where you were confused and needed help.
I looked at the post you mentioned and it doesn't seem to answer my question. I'm hoping you will consider the tone in your response in light of the fact that we ALL find ourselves pulling our hair out from time to time and have to rely on others for help.
Up until now, I have received nothing but courteous and respectful help. The fact that this forum is now nearly 150 pages long should tell you that its installation can be problematic.
I think we are all better served without sarcastic comments. If you need my help someday, I will try to refrain from such.
My apologies if I misinterpreted your meaning.
double post...sorry

Hello all,
I was planning to install this mod and start playing with it, but the readme and install txt files are garbled and unreadable...
Also, the links within those files are dead, namely:
http://www.medea.co.uk/dev/multisite...tions_4.0.html
Does anyone know where the documentation for this can be found?
Thanks!
I've been using the instructions here.

If you are installing over a previous installation that has been customized, check the install.txt file that came with the download.
Is there a way to remove the broken links to install instructions in previous posts. This has created a lot of confusion for new multi-site users (including myself). This is such a great mod. It seems like a shame to be sending people down rabbit holes.
I didn't mean to sound sarcastic.. I don't think from what I can remember any of my post I posted i ever got help.. I had to re read this forum over and over again..
and yes it is very confusing and very frustrating.. but really really worth the effort.
I had a heck of a time getting the second domain name working..
Now I added a couple of pictures that helped me to get in the right direction with the second domain name.
I added the second domain to point to html and not a folder
the picture shows a folder to point to buykandibracelets.com ad a domain name addon
I pointed it to ---> Home/public_html
not creating a folder like the picture show..
I hope that helps..
I would be nice if this was all in one place instead of spread out though the whole posts.
