You could also try looking at the permissions on the file. Are they too low to allow web access, or higher than your server's security setting will permit?

It's the permissions on the file that you can't access that may be significant, not those on your .htacess file.

    Nice .htaccess :)

    This file /includes/templates/template_default/css/gss.xsl exist?
    Copy it to <your_template>/css/gss.xsl

What permissions on the /includes/templates/template_default/css/gss.xsl ?

Check the .htaccess files if they exist:
    /includes/templates/.htaccess
    /includes/templates/template_default/.htaccess
    /includes/templates/template_default/css/.htaccess

Why you you do not copy it?
If you did not copied, then consider that you do not need it. In this case you can ignore this error. This file is used only for viewing xml-files in the browser. Search engines do not need it.

    0. Backup all Zen-Cart files to your server or local computer.
    Backup your database.
    1. Unzip and upload all files to your store directory.
    2. For Zen-Cart 1.5.x. Run install-sitemapxml.sql
    3. Go to Admin->Tools->Sitemap XML and click "Install SitemapXML SQL".
    4. Go to Admin->Configuration->Sitemap XML and setup all parameters.
    5. Go to Admin->Tools->Google XML Sitemap (If error messages occur, change permissions on the XML files to 777).
    6. To have this update and automatically notify Google, you will need to set up a Cron job via your host's control panel.

My problem is with STEP 5. "Google XML Sitemap" does not show up under my Tools menu. Any ideas? Is this a necessary menu? How can I make it display? I got an error when I tried installing the SQL but a previous poster said this is normal and that the SQL file is only meant to be installed on ZenCart 1.5... is this accurate... perhaps this is my issue?

It is accurate (I didn't make it up to bug you, and it's what the instructions say). But it's not your problem.

That's probably that you didn't put the files in the right place, most likely that you didn't put the admin files in your renamed admin, but instead uploaded them as they are thus creating a new admin folder "admin" that your site won't recognise.

    Hi,

my request is hopefully simple. As per above I have done the upload but no joy in having it work - and Andrew as a real code dummie I am struggling with the lack of detail in your readme.txt instructions.

I am running 1.3.9 so am ignoring the SQL patch install. The folder sitemapXML v2 is uploaded to the root directory. So what now? Which folders / files need to be copied into which folders (like for MY_STORE) in languages or templates and which of any .php files need to be modified and with what information (if any) ??

Is there a bouncing ball installation guide for dummies? like1. after uploading sitemapXMLv2 to your root directory open folder and copy file xyz and past in xyz YOUR_SITE - if not created then copy file abc from zzzz/kkkk/pppp and paste into zzzz/kkkk/MY_STORE/pppp 2. Now .... blah blah bla ???? something even I could follow and end up with a successful active add-on?

Any and ALL help will be appreciated (I have searched FAQ's and posts in this forum)

    cheers,
    Mike

NewsFlash - your program has an inherent BUG that needs fixing - it is found in the ReadMe.txt file - NYET, wait .... IT IS THE WHOLE FILE.

If you fixed the instructions you wouldn't be getting these requests Einstein.

    cheers,
    Mike

or should I use your salutation ........ Good Luck ........ appropriate as one needs "Luck" to get your program to work
