I tried this method described here in this forum and suddenly every single spam email disappeared.

Seriously, use the technique from the thread I posted above and you will get rid of ALL spam without compromising your customer's experience.

The previous site for which I've got the task of replacing with Zencart (a trading eye site I believe), used a blank form field to stop spam bots. I'll post my questions on that thread.

Have just installed captcha_verification_for_zc139 and it works fine on contact us page but nothing on the registration/log in page.
What have I done wrong?

Has anyone been able to re-write this add-on, to work with zen-cart v1.5.0BETA on a test site?

A re-write for this add-on is almost complete for zen-cart v1.5.0BETA, and will be submitted for review in the next couple of days. There are some issues with coding for the Contact Us, and Tell a Friend pages, and should there be any delays for a release, it will most likely be due to those issues. I will post here again, once submitted to the Zen-Cart team for approval.

An update to this Mod has been submitted for review to the Zen-Cart Team this evening. The update covers Create Account, Contact Us, and Tell a Friend for Zen-Cart v1.5.0, currently still in BETA for testing.

I will post here, once it has been reviewed and published, and share the name of the new updated file.

The updated version of CAPTCHA Anti-Robot Registration v1.4, for Zen-Cart v1.5.0 has been approved and released for download by the Zen-Cart team. I will be starting a zen-cart forum, shortly for that version, and place the link/address for it here. Again, it is an update, utilizing v1.3 base code, which, without v1.4 may not have happened.

Only after couple of days started to get odd-product reviews in English, although the site is only in Lithuanian language, reviews clearly written by a robot, signed by dsfhskafh or similar names, 15-25 reviews a day ( in average website have only 100 visitors a day)...

Any idea what's the problem?

Need to know: Which Captcha (Name and Version), PHP, and MySQL, you are using.

First things first. Did you verify in the Read Me First text file of your version Captcha, that it is compatible with the version of Zen-Cart you're using?

If it's compatible with Zen-Cart v1.3.8, double check your settings for Captcha from your store admin. Click 'Configuration', then 'CAPTCHA Validation', and ensure that Create Account option is set to True.

It's been along time since I have utilized Zen-Cart v1.3.8. The latest version that has been released is Zen-Cart 1.3.9h, and version 1.5.0 will be released once BETA testing is complete. Many security issues have been resolved since version 1.3.8. You may want to take the time and plan an update to the latest version of Zen-Cart to help resolve this issue, if everything else appears to be ok.

Last question. Has the bot been able to open customer accounts on your site? Or, has it been able to fill out reviews, without creating an account?

One last thing regarding your bot reviews. From your store Admin page, click Configuration, then Product Info, and verify that "Product Reviews Require Approval" is set with a '1' for True, and not a '0' for False. Atleast this way, they won't show up for others visiting your site to see, until you approve them, giving you a little more time until you're able to figure out what's going on regarding Captcha.
