I had seen this happen before when a product got corrupted (I thought) but couldn't track it to a specific product.

I finally found out that one of the subcategory icons was a very large png file and that was the reason why the page stopped.

So take a note - if an image is too large for the mod or server or whatever to handle, it will create missing parts of pages. There's no error messages anywhere and it may feel random.

I hope this saves someone the hours I wasted yesterday!

Without a link to see the issue (that has since been resolved), it's hard to know with certainty what you're describing here. Even though you've resolved your issue, it's important for future readers of this thread to understand what you may have been experiencing, so I'm going to address two common user errors that can create what I think you may be describing.

IH3 is not a page layout mod, so it doesn't affect page layout - however, IH3 settings can definitely affect page appearance.

If your sub-cat icon image is displaying so large that page appearance is not what it should be, then your IH3 image size settings need to be adjusted to a smaller setting.

On the other hand, if the issue you're experiencing is that your sub-cat icon image is displaying so large that the page stops loading (even though your IH3 settings are correct and appropriate) - then you need to use a smaller image. This problem has nothing to do with Image Handler, it's to do with your server and the timeout settings.

In either case, both of these problems are addressed in the Read_Me documentation and have been discussed at length in this thread. They are not IH3 issues, they are user created problems that often stem from the user not correctly configuring and/or using IH3....which usually stems from not reading the Read_Me and following the directions therein.

At any rate, I'm glad you were able to resolve your issue and get your site working like it should.

Good luck and happy Zenning
