Here's the thing about this.. this error has been around for YEARS and it's been hard to pin down all the causes because no one ever posted enough DETAILS when getting the error to pin down ALL the reasons for it popping up.. We've always known that invalid filenames is one possible cause, but there are others.. I had a client that got this error when uploading images to ONE particular product.. No issues uploading images to any other product.. The ONLY thing that was different about this product was that there were quotes (representing inches) in the PRODUCT name.. So (for reasons that will ALWAYS escape me) I removed the quotes from the product name and no more error.. **shrugs**

Anyway, now we know ONE MORE reason when/why this issue occurs, and the readme and interface in the next version of IH3 will be enhanced to cover this a little more thoroughly..

If there isn't a small/default image specified then Zen Cart and Image Handler won't know what image applies to what product and won't be able to use 'large' or 'medium' versions. The 'small' image is the one that the system uses to 'identify' the other images.

As I say, this to me is counter-intuitive but it is just the way it is.
