    Hi Rob

I have just finished the updates I mentioned, there were also a few other bugs I found which have been squashed (like not displaying a bid if it was under £1).

I will add your suggestion #1 and #3 and submit it tomorrow. Ref #2 do you mean the copy feature?

    Kind Regards

    Dave

    Hi Dave,

Before I respond, here's a question: I'm ready to update the store from v1.3.9 to v1.5.0. Are there any issues with the auction module I should know about before I apply this update?

Now, to your question. I wrote:

Bug 2: Moving a product from auction to fixed price, or fixed price to auction. There doesn't seem to be a way to do this, short of manually deleting the product, and then manually adding it back in. You can use the "move" function, but that merely moves the product from one category to another, while maintaining its fixed or auction characteristics.

After further testing, here is a more detailed description of the problem:

    1) I have an art site, selling paintings. Some of the artists have subcategories: Auction and Fixed Price. If you decide to change a product's status from auction to fixed price, or from fixed price to auction, there's no way to do it by using either the move or copy function. If you use either of these functions, the status details go with it. In other words, an auction product moved to a fixed price subcategory takes it's auction details with it. The same is true for copying or moving a fixed price product to an auction subcategory. In that case, when viewing the product details in Admin, the auction fields are not available, so there is no way to "convert" the product.

    2) Another bug discovered this week: If you have a subcategory of products (a particular artist's paintings, for example), and there are no subcategories beneath it, you can't add subcategories without deleting all of the products first. I don't know if this is a Zen Cart issue, or an auction module problem, but it's pretty irritating.

    Thanks,

    Rob

Just installed this package. It works without any noticable issues as yet, however it has altered the layout of the general non auction product pages.

It used to be that when viewing a product category it would display 2 columns of products, now it is a single product column, although the system is still set to 2 columns, also the Auction table header for the module displays on every product listing page at the top, just below the filter section?
My only addon is Gallery addon and can be seen here breezy

Hi there new to Zen and looking for a bit of much needed help with the Auction. I have installed all the files and ran the SQL patch. In Admin everything seems fine except there is no sidebox option and when I have added a product to the Auction category and included reserve price etc nothing will display on my site. No auction display, no sideboxes or auction info of any kind? I've looked again and again at the installation guide and tried reinstalling already. As I have said auction manager etc is there in Admin so I just cannot find where I have gone wrong http://www.proquip.ie/index.php?main...&products_id=1 If anyone can help I would really really appreciate it

    Hi Dave,

Are you still scanning this forum? It would help me tremendously if you could possibly answer my questions, and if you plan to fix any of these bugs in the near future and can provide a "guesstimate" for when it might be done, it would relieve some of the strain.

    Thanks,

    Rob

    Rob

Apologies about the delayed reply. I have been in the process of moving jobs so haven't had much time and overlooked this. I am waiting on a new laptop to arrive, had to give my work one back, once I have this I will be back with you.

First I will be fixing the copy/change features, this could do with a complete overhaul but its my top priority. I have also made a note of the other features you wanted and will start on those once this is done.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind Regards

    Dave

    Leslie,

The first step would be to make sure that all files have been uploaded correctly, also make sure that you have renamed any directories accordingly and are uploading in BINARY mode not ASCII.

Please let me know if after this you still require help.

    Kind Regards

    Dave

I need to disable the "units in stock" listing on the auction page, so it does not show this value at all. Disabling it in the rest of the cart doesn't seem to affect the auction converted products. Any ideas?

I found the solution in Catalog - Product Types - Auction - Page Layout.

This said, there's some odd empty space displaying on the page, with five or six blank lines between the starting bid and the minimum bid increase, and more blank lines between the "log in to place bid" button and the description. Any way to shorten this up and remove some of the blank lines?
