HELP! checkout_confirmation suddenly sending to index page!

Hi

I am using v1.3.9.h without specific problem until yesterday, i installed 2 mods:

Carousel sidebox
sidebox anywhere

Those do not modify specific files nor the database but I had to remove everything as it started messing up my site with sessions problems and now, when a customer place an order he is NO longer redirected to the final page: checkout_success instead it goes straight to the index page so the order is not registered and there is no confirmation email....

I am pulling my hairs, I have try many many things and still having the same problem....

Zen does like if the checkout_success page was not on the server while it is, that's sure!

If using a money order as payment > back to index order not registered, caddy full
using a credit card processor > customer pay allright but receives no email, no order is registered, caddy full
same with Paypal

Anybody having an idea where i should look or modify something?
