Sounds like an incompatibility with the settings your host is using for that PHP version.
The debug logs in Zen Cart might offer some clues. If not, then talk to your hosting company to discuss what errors are in the server's internal error logs, since that will give both you and your hosting company clues on how to fix whatever is breaking.
