I installed the latest version on 1.50 and when I go to Tools/Sitemap XML I copied and pasted the link in both Firefox and Chrome ( I wanted to make sure it was working properly) and on Firefox I get this error:

XML Parsing Error: no element found
Location: http://thelinktothesite/sitemap.xml (wasn't sure if I should post the full link)
    Line Number 1, Column 1:

However in Chrome it shows this error:

This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

I installed everything per the instructions including copying and pasting the .sql.

Any help with this error would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

You install only or install and execute (generate) SitemapXML?
What is your 'SitemapXML Index file name'?

You know I have been subscribed to this thread for like a year at least. And I get the constant notifications of posts that I signed up for. All I hear is complaining about the use of this script. I used it without any problems whatsoever. BUT, I have to tell you that the results damaged my SEO ratings on all of my sites. Previously, I used geositecrawler and had okay ratings. But for whatever reason, I decided to violate the rule of any good technician. If it aint broke...don't fix it.

My business for 2011 and 2012 was dramatically impacted in a negative way because of the new sitemaps that I submitted to Google.

A few weeks ago I decided to scrap all of the sitemaps and go back to geositecrawler. It appears to have worked. My phone has been ringing constantly for the past few weeks. I never should have abandoned geositecrawler. It's a simple program to run from your desktop. In a matter of 20 minutes your store will be crawled from your desktop and there will be sitemap generated for every link on your website. Then you just have to upload the sitemap, that geositecrawler saved to your desktop, to your site, and maybe make a note in your robots.txt if you feel energetic.

It's free, so there is nothing in this for me except the good feeling that I may have helped someone.

Thank you so much for this post! Despite the fact that all this - an obvious nonsense, it is not in sitemap, no one ever had bad, nor benefit from the sitemap.
However, I am really very grateful to you, as this very post you eliminate me from having to continue to support, develop and answer endless questions.
Thanks to you, I can now safely take off the cross.
Just like many other plugins abandoned by me here. Freedom!!!

Well since you don't object, I will post the link info.

    http: //gsitecrawler.com /en/ download/

(Just delete the spaces or search geositecrawler)

Thank you, a_berezin, for your contribution.

P.S. Why v. 2.1.0? Why is not the latest version?
I found an easy solution to this, just add links to the More Information sidebox as EZpages links, and then disable the "More Information" sidebox.

Incidentally, note the comment of the great expert on seo - pixelpadre. He strongly advised not to use this module!
