discount coupon description?

hey guys, want to ask, if you create a discount coupon, where will the description be on the page? can i put it in the checkout page?

also, is there a way to let the customer know what code it is at the checkout page?

Typically people who create coupons are doing it for tracking or segmentation - they want the customer to know the code (from seeing an ad in a particular location, for example), so they can see what advertising methods are most effective. If you want to make your coupon codes public, you certainly can - but nothing is built in to do this.
