Adding Multiple Coupons for a Sale

Hi,

I am currently setting up a deal with another website to feature some of my products on their webpage. The customers that visit that website would be able to purchase a "code" to then go to my website and use that code to purchase one of my products.

What I would like to know...

Is there a way for me to set up multiple (500) randomly generated coupon codes all with the restrictions set to a specific category? Or am I going to have to do these 1 by 1?

Did you end up doing this one by one? Or did you find a solution? I need to make a similar number of codes available to a groupon type site and I'm not really looking forward to copying one by one! :)

You might test this for multiple coupons ...

What it will do is overwrite your:
/your_secret_admin/coupon_admin.php
/your_secret_admin/includes/languages/english/coupon_admin.php
/your_secret_admin/includes/functions/general.php

and add files for:
/your_secret_admin/coupon_admin_export.php
/your_secret_admin/includes/languages/english/coupon_admin_export.php
/your_secret_admin/includes/extra_datafiles/coupon_exporter_database_names.php

It lets you create a Base Discount Coupon code and settings for the coupon then it will build from 1 to however many additional Discount Coupons you need with unique Discount Coupon codes built from the base code and copy the settings for the Discount Coupon and any restrictions ...

Then, you can obtain a Report for any matching Discount Coupon for the base code and export the matching Discount Coupons for creating a CVS file ...
This will be built into the Zen Cart v1.6 ... let us know how it works for you and if you need additional features ...

Ah Linda - that is nice and very timely! A client recently asked us for a module to generate 101 unique codes so they can team up with 'Groupon'

Let us know how this works out for you ...

Just make sure that your Base Discount Coupons is properly defined before you generate the copies from it ...

Also on the export, I was unsure as to the format needed so any suggestions would be helpful ...

This is an excellent feature, but I have one problem with it. When I try to download the coupons I get a 500 error. All the coupons seem to has generated fine and I have tried to email one to myself, which worked fine, just cant download them all together. I am on the 1.5.1 version if this helps.

Any ideas?

Would this work with say We do a $10 coupon code for newsletters and are now have a 4th of July sale and need to allow both codes to work together?

You can have as many active Discount Coupons as you want, but only one Discount Coupon can be used per Order ...

Multiple Discount Coupons cannot be used on the same Order in Zen Cart, at this time ...

To change this, you would have to rewrite all the code and logic related to Discount Coupons ...
