Yes...I had not actually told my sitemap to create. I was trying to follow very close instructions and was afraid to do anything not in the instructions, so I never "created" a site map for my site. Once I did, it all worked just fine.

Here are the instructions in the read me file:

    8. Go to Admin -> Tools -> Google XML Sitemap (If error messages occur, change permissions on the XML files to 777).

This translates into: Create / update your site map, set up parameters and send. Some people need explaining like a 2 year old. LOL. Thanks again.

Such mistakes should not be. Check the files on the FTP - files may not fully loaded. Upload files to FTP again.

Hi Andrew, thank you for a quick response.

I can now access the 'Create / update your site map:' page. I changed some php global settings in my host control panel.

I'll have a go at creating some sitemaps and let you know how I get on.

    all the best, Mark.

I'm very new to this, I followed the directions to a tee. Is the last step for 1.5.x versions to go setup a Cron job via the control panel?

I'm having issues on how exactly this is done, it's not really told the details on how to do this.

In the admin there's an option to 'view, truncate or delete', should I be 'truncating' the different xml files? what does that do?

    thanks for any help

It depends on your hosting. In different hosting companies for different tariff plans, on many systems, this is done differently. Ask your hosting support service.

    No

If you don't know what that is, just ignore. It's for advanced users. These few people are using.

Maybe that will help you HOW TO SET UP A CRON JOB IN CPANEL.
I run to create a map of the site once a day - in the deep of night, when the server more or less free.

Thanks a_berezin for the help, 1 additional question

I am setting up the Cron job, I set it for everyday at 4 am. However I'm unsure what to put in the command line.

Should I put /public_html/zen Which is where I have my site in my ftp, or should I put my sites url -> www.sunnysihota.com/zen or somewhere else within the site?

I did a search on my site for sitemap but it didn't show up. Does it only show up once a cron job is done? Or is there some option in the admin to make it visible?

    thanks for the help!
