Lucky, checked my service ticket, and yesterday host reported fixed, but when checked via curlchecker and paypal express both failed. New ticket issued referencing old ticket and potential methods of testing.

So, my host two days ago said that the problem was corrected, but last night after discovering both the message and that it wasn't, opened a new ticket. I've tried to find again in this thread a post indicating where it may be suggested to go for them to guide them in identifying the point of the problem, but wasn't able to locate it. I'm thinking I remember seeing a comprehensive diagnostic area (not just the one to download the curltester.php and ipncheck.php files), but something that included the telnet and ssh discussion. Could someone point me to the comprehensive URL? I've tried to describe those actions to them, but am thinking it may help further to get to an additional source. Thank you!

It's so frustrating to have to teach a hosting company how to do their job, when the diagnostics required here are directly related to the skills any competent hosting company employee should know by rote.

Great for you and some hope for me. You mean your paypal express is working? I just checked one of my sites to see if I am able to get ups quotes and take me from shopping cart to paypal payment page using paypal standard, and it did take me there. I will still have to check my other sites and see if the paypal express mod will work.

What exactly did you tell netsol to diagnose in you call to them? can you tell me in detail so that I can tell them to look for the same since we have a common host and a common cart.

I submitted a new ticket yesterday mentioning what dr byte says able outdated DNS settings and will now go check what they have to say about that.

Amen... In part makes me want to go work for one to improve their capability and performance, while at the same time not to because of the lack of expected competence.

I had in my mind more of a "one (web) pager" that I thought you had developed somewhere in the forums but was discussed in this thread, but the first referenced post probably would be the most "educational". My guess is that they continued to test like I did (as I didn't have the necessary tools to implement a TCP traceroute on port 443), and "assumed" that it was all a-okay. :/ at least they did provide a response within the time frame they stated they would, albeit was just a yeah we know people are having difficulty, working on it, and will get back to you type response. *rolling eyes*

As part of their policy if they are late in responding then they can be contacted to provide reimbursement for services. I've suggested to those that pay to follow up with that because of the minimum three occasions spanning two months (end of July and beginning of August) when they haven't even come close to responding within the time frame they identified. Realize we're not talking about pizza delivery, but three+ days is not even close to 4-6 hours.

I just found out that I have orders from my two current 1.39h sites using paypal standard. What a relieve at least and hope this will last. Initial testing takes me to the paypal express checkout page. I will yet have to perform a test to see it it actually will go through. I will now go to double check my 1.5.1 multisite with an actual payment order to make sure everything works before switching over to the upgrade. I will let your know.

PayPal Express Checkout connects to the PayPal server three times: once when you first click the orange button before it redirects you to the PayPal site, then again after you return from the payPal site, and then one final time to submit the final purchase when you click "Confirm" in your shopping cart. All three use the same way to connect to PayPal. So, if you use the orange Express button and it takes you to the PayPal site to login to your PayPal account, then the communications is working. Proceeding to make an actual payment is not needed for testing CURL, although it's still a beneficial test for other reasons.

Thank you very much again and again. I still have not tested it yet between other task available at hand. But this tells me that it will work even without testing by submitting a actual transaction.

Paypal standard works cause I got some orders overnight in 2 of my zc139h sites.

I believe One thing is still amiss. The confirmation emails send to customer on account creation and order updates returns as undeliverable. any insight into this one?
