I get this when try patch - Error ERROR: Cannot insert configuration_key "" because it already exists - have followed the thread through but no joy.
I have just uninstalled again and tried to upload via myphp and get this -
Error
SQL query: Documentation

#1146 - Table 'ewtrad_zc1.configuration_group' doesn't exist
Sometimes (and I have no idea why) the SQL patch simply doesn't work. I've had this problem several times before and have never been able to figure out why. The solution is quite ugly, but it gets the job done - you'll need to manually delete all ZX entries from the database and then run the SQL queries from phpmyadmin (or whatever). Keep in mind that you won't be able to copy/paste the SQL patch, it will require some modification. I remember explaining this somewhere in the early beginnings of this thread, please try to look it up.
I did this, no ZX entires when I searched, I did copy and paste but didn't modify, I have looked through thread, didn't spot the modification part, can look again tomorrow. Any other sliders easier? Don't want to mess the whole website up, I've never used the php side!! Just want a scrolling narrow banner slider for top of site www.ew-trading.com where images for the departments currently are, want a long banner for each to scroll. Wish this was a wordpress site!
You can certainly search the add-ons for "slideshow" or "slider". this support thread is not the right place to inquire about other add-ons like this one..
This doesn't require any knowledge or PHP, and you won't "mess up the whole website".. Run the uninstall script from the Zen Cart admin.. Then simply re-run the install SQL.. this should solve the problem..
Comparing apples and oranges.. WordPress has it's own set of complexities..

I don't answer support questions via PM. Post add-on support questions in the support thread. The question & the answer will benefit others with similar issues.
And I mean not used to the phpmyadmin interface. Never mind, I'll try another slider![]()
Modifying the SQL query to run from phpmyadmin is not a big deal, just a matter of changing table names. However, I'm sorry, but teaching you how to use phpmyadmin is way beyond any reasonable scope of support. There is an explanation somewhere in this thread (I remember explaining it), perhaps you're just not looking close enough.
There ARE alternative sliders available, but (from what I know) all are controlled from code meaning you manually upload images via FTP and then change the code (usually in Define Pages Editor). Your site already has such slider installed (Easy Slider) and you're using Andover Modern template so you might wanna check the documentation and support thread for that template to see how you can use the existing slider that you already have installed.
I have installed all correctly through filezilla. When I install patch it says ERROR: Cannot insert configuration_key "" because it already exists
I have seen that I need to access phpmyadmin but have never used this before. I have got access and have typed in ZX in what I think is the right place to search and nothing shows up. I unistalled the patch from the zencart dashboard and reinstalled using phpmyadmin. Still nothing. I have it showing in the zen dash but only the header. I maybe haven't done the right thing in php my admin but it is a bit intimidating in there when you have never seen it before.
I do have andover modern but some of the team, who only use the zen dash type things on the main page and that destroys the andover modern slider every time! Meaning I have to go back an re-upload over and over which they hate as looks bad! Want a slider we can operate though the zen dashboard... Didn't think would be so difficult!
Feel free to explain to me like I am a child :)
