Buildingblocks, I haven't tried via catogory, but if i build 500 products at a time then i can get my entire catalog done with no issues.
I currently have 5000 products (or there abouts) so creating 10 feeds on at a time is very time consuming... I could do by cron but rather do it by hand as i know its defo done then
do spot something wierd though in when i ask for 500 products i get the following
Google Merchant Center File Complete In 21.457712 Seconds 800 of 500 Records
800 of 500??

Hello,
I have Zencart 1.5.1 and have Google Merchant Feed v1.13 installed. I just tried to run it a few ago and got this message, not sure if I did something wrong or what. I went to the configuration for it and saw on the first item when I hit Edit, it had an option to update, would this 'update' button actually update my version of the Google Merchant Feed automatically or what?
Here is the message I'm getting right now, thanks for any help anyone can send my way.

Ok, I've been told this is due to a time out in the script and that I would need to create my merchant feed in batches and then put them together into one file. I have 4801 products and was able to get the first file making the settings of max number of products = 2000 with a starting point of 0. I was able to download that xml file ok.
I then had 2801 products left so I refreshed the page and set the max number at 1400 with a starting point of 2001, a file was created but I haven't been able to open it, I get an error saying "xml parse error".
I then tried the last 1401 products by entering 1401 as the max products with a starting point of 3401 but wasn't able to create a file at all. I know I've got the products split into three managable numbers. My first starting point was 0 in order to get the first 2000 items, my second starting point was 2001 which would be the beginning number of the next 1400 items, the third starting point was 3401 which would have been the first line item on the third set.
Anyone have any ideas on this, I really need this goggle merchant feed to work as it is my main source of advertising and where most of my customers come from.
Thanks,
Jim
Sorry for posting my problem above, it didn't dawn on me that the problem had already been posted by someone else. I have one question maybe someone can answer. I'm trying to download my 4801 products with the Google feed in 4 feeds, the problem I'm having, I think, is the correct starting point for each feed I try to run, if I have 4 feeds of 1000 each wouldn't the starting points be in this order: 0, 1001, 2001, 3001.
Thanks,
Jim
with the newest version of the module it does assist with server load, which version are you using?
I've got version 1.13.0
im using Google Merchant Center Feeder v1.14.2 and still have the problem
I had the newest version installed the other day but haven't had a chance to check it yet as the following day my site went down, Hostgator says it's a possible security issue and is investigating so I'm dead in the water for now until they can clear the site and I can run a restore on it. All I get now is a blank page but I can still log into my admin and cpanel so I don't knwo what's going on with it.
Still have a little trouble trying to download the files needed. I have 4801 total products. I thought I'd try to get them 1500 at a time and then the final 301. I can get the first two files by using 1 as the starting point on the first one with total number of products 1500. On the second one I used 1501 as the starting point with 1500 as the max number. I tried to get the third download using 3001 as the starting point with 1500 as the max number but it doesn't download anything at all. What am I missing?
Thanks
Jim
