    Hi
Installed this module with the standard subscription and all is good. Except each product shows twice - once with the price including VAT and next to it again without VAT. Both products in the Facebook online store link to the same Zen cart product. I also had this problem when I used the Magento module.
Can you advise what could be causing this.

    Hi

This can occur when you have two tax rates under the same tax class, since the plug-in can't determine customers zone both are displayed. If you don't want two tax rates for the same tax class, we would recommend you remove one in the admin.

If this is how you intentionally set-up to allow you to tax based on customers' zone, then you will need to make a minor modification to the plug-in so only one rate is displayed.

To limit plug-in to one rate go to the Tax Rates editor in the admin and click the tax you want to apply, then make a note of the tax id in the URL (e.g. tID=2).

    Now in fb_browse.php find:

    PHP Code:
    $Query_TableTax " left outer join " TABLE_TAX_RATES ." tr on tr.tax_class_id = p.products_tax_class_id "
Limit this query to your choosen tax_rate by adding the id " and tax_rates_id= ? ".

E.g. for the Tax ID tID=2 change the query to:

    PHP Code:
        $Query_TableTax " left outer join " TABLE_TAX_RATES ." tr on tr.tax_class_id = p.products_tax_class_id and tax_rates_id=2"
    Kind regards

thanks - I assumed it was something on our tax configuration side, and I will make the necessary adjustments. Great add on for Facebook.

    Hi,

I installed your plugin some many months ago and got it working fine after a while - I hadn't checked it for months and today I went to the store and everything will show up OK however there is no linking to the site - it is just a bunch of pretty pictures taking up space. https://www.facebook.com/HarmonyBall...36002413133082

Any ideas what it could be?

    cheers,
    Mike

    Hi

The 30 days free trial of the full version ended. You should have received notification via email based on the contact details you provided when setting up the app. Users are automatically transferred onto the Free lite version after the trial is over. The lite version is an image gallery for your products and is funded via advertising banners at top and bottom of the page.

All versions and prices are available for comparison here:
    http://www.ecommercebrowser.com/info/prices

Sorry for any confusion. We try to make this clear on the app, and the download is labelled "ALERT: This is a free addon which can be used to connect your store to the commercial services offered by the Bright Software product.". Please feel free to continue using the lite version; there is never any obligation to upgrade.

    Kind regards,

Thanks - so my 'shop here without leaving Facebook message' in the banner is now only valid for my Etsy shop in Facebook, same same I suppose, commission going to one place and not another.

Interesting concept - how can a page that doesn't work be "funded by advertising", funding only happens if the ad is clicked on right? - oh I know because I did it - clicking on product images doesn't work so in frustration you click on the BIG RED PULSATING "CONTINUE" button - very clever, deceptive but clever. It would be less deceptive if the ad had a border around it so as to be seen to be separate to the 'store', that way someone who clicks on the ad will be doing so because they actually want to rather than being masterfully deceived into doing so.

By the way - I didn't get my Steak Knives after signing up for the free 30 day trial.

Can you tell me how to put a header message or banner on the page between the ad and the shop that doesn't work?

    cheers,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

The contents of the advert is not within our control, originally we used Google adverts as they were better quality (as deceptive are not allow by Google). However Facebook banned apps from using Google Ads and only allow you to choose one of their prefered companies. Unfortunely the adverts provided by these companies are not as good and can be deceptive. As they are not well targeted to customers, they appear to rely on people clicking by accident. As a result, we are now making a loss on the cost of hosting over 6000 free facebook apps.

As for adding a banner, this can be done via the admin mode under the "Appearance" tab in the "Top Banner".

    Kind regards,

It is for this reason that I advise my customers to not waste their time installing this unless they intend to pay for the subscription for your service.. There really isn't ANYTHING useful for potential customers in the "Free lite version", and we really don't want to deal with banner ads.. they make the Facebook page look unpolished IMHO... I think the fee for your subscription is reasonable, and the clients who have subscribed to your service think so too..
