Update. After un-installing/re-installing, and no reply on other link, here is the decision/solution. My original purpose was to use EZ pages for navigation vs categories, as that is what I'm using in the live store, and it works much better for our need. Only needed to make these changes, turns out don't need HideCategories after all.
- Uninstall HideCategories (maybe try at later date after demo store complete)
- Turn Off sideboxes/categories.php in layout controller
- Leave EZ Pages On
- Modify EZ Page title if needed. Mine now says CATEGORIES (includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/ez_pages_definitions.php)
- Add/modify EZ Pages as needed, set sidebox in EZ page on or off as needed.
