Page not found for product info after easypopulate import

I am setting up my site to use zencart ver 1.5.4. I currently us oscommerce. I have zencart set up in a different directory on the same server.

I was able to upload all my products by matching the db structure of zencart and using easy populate.

Everything looks good except:

In admin. All my categories show. Click on a category and the products show. Click on a product and I get error 404 not found.

On front end. All looks good. Categories show fine. Click on a category and the product listing shows. I can even add to my cart from here and it shows in cart. If I click on the product to go to product description, I get page not found 404 within my site.

I don't know where to go from here. I have searched the forum and google and found no help.

Thinking it has something to do with product_type designator. Do you have the same issue if you create a new product in the admin?

I did find that when I went back to check my structure of the imported data I had left out v_product_type. I changed that and reuploaded everything. Still same problem.

I attempted to add a new product, but it would not let me. When I clicked new product The admin just went to a list of the items in the current catagory .

Any suggestions?

To be clear, you're saying that if you do the following the software has an issue?
1. in the ZC admin, catalog, products/categories, if you create a new category off of the top of your store (Test for example)
2. Then create a product (Try the default products-general), that you are not provided a screen on which to edit?
3. If able to access a screen to enter product data, then fill in just the product name, a description and a fictitious price. If not see step 7.
4. Preview the product.
5. Update the product.
6. The product should appear as the only item within the list of the test category and should also appear on the catalog side.
7. This and the following steps are not necessary for this "test" if steps 3-6 were possible to perform.
8. Try adding a product of a different product type: ie. document general of some other option available in the dropdown list at the bottom of the screen.
9. Now repeat steps 3 through 6. :) Sort of... Ie. try to add a product to the store and verify its addition.

Yes you are correct.

I can create a new category, but I cannot add a product to it. I do not get a blank white screen, I get the admin screen showing catagories / Products - Test,
but no way to enter any product info so I cannot do a product type.

Ok, here is something else I just found. I went to categories and clicked on product types, none showing and no way of adding any.
