Predefinied Text in Admin Order Comments

Using 1.5.5e, I am wanting to have predefined text in the order comments section, when you edit an order, so we do not have to copy and paste our generic shipped/tracking message for every order, and instead we can have it up already and we'd only need to add the tracking number. I poked around a little bit and will poke around some more later today, but if anyone has a better idea where to start, it would be appreciated.

G'day,

Cindy (lat9) was working on a plugin along these lines for me, which other things took priority over and it still hasn't been finished. (Need to get back to working on it.) Idea was we could scan a barcode of the order number that we add to our admin email order notice, which would bring up the order, then scan the tracking details, and an appropriate boilerplate option would be selected and shown for any further editing. But there would also be boilerplate options for our other standard messages to select from and then edit before sending.

I actually had found the thread for this before posting. I haven't had a chance to install it and try it, but my question is, do the messages populate the form when selected, which would allow us to add tracking information, or is it simply a select and send type of deal?

The messages you have predefined, can be selected from a drop-down, and are put in the comments text area. This is done by a little piece of JavaScript
