Default Re: New istall 155f and new database, admin lockout

I've repaired this by simply installing a new Zen Cart on the same server - separate folder/directory. Follow through the installation process with a new admin name and password. Then when you know that one is working... just drop the admin login records in the failed database and copy the data directly from the new 'working' site. This will keep the rest of your database intact. Regardless of the outcome I always back everything up BEFORE I start and test the backups.

If you need help I've done this many times in nearly every Zen version since 1.37... and 3 weeks ago it happened while adding a vanilla testing site. Easy breezy.

If anything goes wrong after that I'll start looking into the SQL or the server to see where the bottleneck is. Usually it's user error copying passwords with 'extra space' or typing the important bits incorrectly.

You can try it yourself or contact me directly if you're still stuck.

    Thanks

I'll make a note of the process.

Hopefully I wouldn't need it though...

I have experienced this kind of thing a few times too. Clear cache and remove the password from your password manager (whether it's your browser or some external password manager). This will allow you to start fresh with a new working password.

    DANG...

Now my store front loads a white page.

Going to investigate, maybe issues with XAMPP...

Hopefully haven't gone on too much of a wild goose chase. When presented with a white screen or partial display, follow this FAQ: http://www.zen-cart.com/content.php?124-blank-page

    Thanks
Working on localhost and only made changes in admin; ie: deleted products & manufacturers then noticed store front loaded white page.

Have since started with all new fresh install. So far so good!
Deleting or making one change at a time and double checking store front.

    Keeping fingers crossed.
