PHP version upgraded and top level categories no longer display

I believe my webhost upgraded the PHP version on my site to 7.3.23. I understood this wasn't going to happen for a couple of weeks, but here we are. I *want* to upgrade my site to the latest ZenCart version, but that is going to take me some time to complete.

The current trouble is that only the lowest level categories (categories with products in them) are displaying. My home page usually opens with categories and they are gone. If I click on any of the second level categories they, too, are blank. My settings were not changed in admin, and they are still set to:

Configuration>layout settings>Categories - Always Show on Main Page>1
Configuration>layout settings>Main Page - Opens with cateogory>0

Do you have any advice for me?

I have much bigger problems than just the categories. On further inspection, many (but not all) of the info boxes about the items and many (but not all) of the add to cart links are gone. I can detect no consistent pattern as to why some work and some don't. Clicking through the books for sale; some you can "add to cart", most you cannot. Same for the digitized patterns. I'm so confused.

Any help will be so very much appreciated!

It appears that there is a problem with Additional Product Image.

So, I contacted my host. The server and the PHP version were upgraded last night. I went back to 5.6 and everything is working fine again. Fast, easy fix. I will start the upgrade process so that we can make the switch to the latest ZenCart version and PHP 7.3 asap. I'm just not good enough/fast enough to get that done in a Sunday afternoon. This bought me some time.
