Order Confirmation Email combining orders of 2 different purchasers.

This has only happened a couple of times out of about 100 or so, but when it does it is embarrassing. I glanced at the database but don’t know where to look. It didn’t error. A student ordered a course and the email, phone number and name of the student pulled from an order the same day but 2 orders back. The credit card information and the purchaser’s information were accurate, but that person was also supposed to be the student. Instead of using the purchaser’s information, the confirmation email was sent to and included the name, email address and phone number from a previous order (with 1 order in-between).

What payment method and template is in use? Are there any other plugins/add-ons/customizations that could have a "play" in the issue?

A Visa card was used for that order, but most purchasers use a Visa. Visa, MC, AX, Disc and PayPal is set up. This never happened before it was upgraded to this version of Zen-cart. Now it has happened twice out of a number of orders. One of the first orders after the upgrade did this - merged 2 orders - and about 6-months later it did it again. This is the only configuration add-on that I can think of. The add-on wasn't modified after the upgrade. None of the confirmation emails were changed either.

Hmm, I'm going to have to pin the root-cause on the FEC processing. I'm not sure what version of FEC you're using, but that's a Numinix product; perhaps they could provide some support?
