Can't tfind needed file

I got a logo.png that I want to use to replace the default logo.gif.
i uploaded file OK, but I cannot find header.php where there instructions mention it should be.
tried to copy over from template-default but I can't find it either in my pwd
/var/www/html/zentest.com/includes/templates/template_default/templates.
Please tell me where to look for header.php?

Thank for answers but I have read instructions, I understand template overrides, but file was not there.
Please don't send me docs, I have read them.
All I need is a simple answer: where can I find header.php so i can load it into the template?
I will not wait for answers that don't address my question, will unzip a fresh copy of 1.58 and use search capabiliities provided by my Linux distro to find the file.

I have the image I need and already uploaded it, I am looking for the file that will process displaying by the browser.

Sorry, but you have apparently not read the instructions or checked out the links sent.

Your post did not mention the extension of the image being used as a replacement logo.gif. If you simply were to replace it with a new/different logo.gif, you would use the link I gave and follow the

Note that by default, YOURLANGUAGE is “english” and YOURTEMPLATE is “responsive_classic”.images folder: This is where your Product images are located.
ncludes/languages/YOURLANGUAGE/images folder: icon.gif (your language flag).
ncludes/templates/YOURTEMPLATE/buttons/YOURLANGUAGE folder: contains the buttons used by the cart, if you are not using CSS buttons.
ncludes/templates/YOURTEMPLATE/images folder: contains logo.gif, and other images required by your template files.
ncludes/templates/YOURTEMPLATE/images/icons folder: contains additional images used by the cart (specific to your template)
NOTE: if your template is looking for an image in the includes/templates/YOURTEMPLATE/images folder but cannot find it, Zen Cart will use the image in the includes/templates/template_default/images folder.

You mentioned nothing about possibly renaming the file to something like mylogo.gif, alogo.jpg, or logoNew.png. IF that were the case, the first item in the list that swguy sent is a link to https://docs.zen-cart.com/user/new_u...ge_header_logo. This link not only tells you where to find the header but is also helpful if you have changed the size of the file you are using to replace logo.gif.

I would suggest that, going forward, you read the pages and investigate the links fully. The docs are very powerful.

header.php files are not in templates but in whatever language you are using.

As noted in the first link of the info sent by swguy

After creating your logo you can adjust the alt text, width, height, and image name in includes/languages/english/YOURTEMPLATE/header.php

If you are using another language than english, you will want to make sure that language has a /YOURTEMPLATE/header.php as well.

I think I see the issue. Some of the docs referred to the old language file names. I think I have updated this in all the required places.

I know perfectly well they are trying, as well as myself.
FYi I already solved the problem,will post answer in similar thread I created today, will post the solution shortly.
BTW, I found the file by using tools provided by my Linux distro and my brain, it would have been simpler to just post location of file instead of engaging in discussion, I could not accept the solution of renaming my file to something.gif because it was a .png and I did not want to transform it into a .gif because it is an obsolete and poor format.
