Default New Account Holders Address Details Blank

    V1.5.7.d

When a new customer creates an account there are several fields that are required to be filled, and yet, I have found that a number of new accounts created have the address fields blank. How is this possible?
I customer from the USA has created an account today and yet there is no address details and they are having issues with the estimated shipping feature which keeps defaulting back to New Zealand after they have entered United States and clicking on Update.

Could someone explain what is happening here and why required fields are being able to be left blank?
    Cheers, John.

That's because you're using One-Page Checkout with "Registered Accounts" enabled. When you use that setting, a customer's initial account is created with minimal information (no address yet) and they're asked to add that information during the checkout process.

Thank you for that. I have turned that feature off now. So, this will "force" customers to fill in all the details when creating their account?
It doesn't affect anything else does it? Like the guest checkout?
    Cheers, John.

Right, without "registered accounts" a customer's created account requires all the details and that's a separate OPC feature from guest-checkout.
