    Default Windows Messenger

    Hi All,

    Running version 1.58a with php 8.1 on a linux server.

    I for some reason have lost messenger on my site and I have not changed any files at all.

    Has anyone had this happen to them and if so what did they do to correct it.

    did you mean Facebook Messenger? I see in developer tools console that there are errors for "Cross-Origin Request Blocked: The Same Origin Policy disallows reading the remote resource at https://www.facebook.com/plugins/customer_chat/..."

    you will have to do some CORS header editing to get it to all work

    The facebook messenger has been working for at least twelve months with no issues but for some reason now (and I have not made any changes to the site) the logo is missing from the pages and I am not getting any messages at all.

    I don't know how this would have happened when i have not changed anything on the site.

    Facebook might have changed the API...

    This is the information on page html_header.php

    <!-- Messenger Chat Plugin Code -->
    <div id="fb-root"></div>

    <!-- Your Chat Plugin code -->
    <div id="fb-customer-chat" class="fb-customerchat">
    </div>

    <script>
    var chatbox = document.getElementById('fb-customer-chat');
    chatbox.setAttribute("page_id", "1752652791xxxx");
    chatbox.setAttribute("attribution", "biz_inbox");
    </scrip

    Would it be the page ID causing the issue (note that it is the same as what is on the facebook site)

    No, research the error I posted about CORS policies.
    Either the server you are on or cloudflare is setting "Same Origin Policy" which disallows loading the scripts from Facebook, and the browsers obey.
    So you can test if it is cloudflare doing it by flipping it off so you load directly from the server and see if the facebook stuff starts working again, and if it does then you need to find out from cloudflare what settings changes need to be made in your cloudflare settings to allow loading of scripts from facebook.

    Work around? They discontinued it. I could suggest something else, but I don't know the purpose the messenger served on your site?

    It was free to use other software want you to pay for the service of chat and as the site does not generate a lot of sales I can't afford to be paying for things like chat.
