Yay I reached the end of the thread!! woohoo... but totally in shock my issue isn't covered..
...How do I change the colour of the attribute comment?...(bright red at the moment)
no wonder its not been covered...its pretty plain obvious

in your template stylrsheet.css change the attributes under

    /* product_info attribute comments */

    .ProductInfoComments, TD.ProductInfoComments, SPAN.ProductInfoComments {
    color: blahblahblah

doh! MUST OPEN EYES AND READ rather than thinking i'm looking at gibberish

OMG 46 pages to scan over to try find my problem

I have set up size attributes for my items (clothes) works great but, I cant see any way of keeping track of my stock for each size.
lets say I have 20 blue shirts in the cart.
there are 4 sizes, 5 of each.
when a customer buys one of the sizes the cart reduces the in stock to 19.

but, if say all 5 of one size sell out and no other sizes have been purchased the cart says there are 15 units in stock, customers can still buy the sold out size because the cart knows I have 15 units left, but it does not know how many of each size I have.

Am I making sense? if so is there a way of setting the quantity of each attribute?

the only other way round this I can see is to have a category called blue shirt and then have each size in that category as an individual item, which makes navigating the cart harder for my customers.

Only if you've left your preferences at the ridiculously small default "posts-per-page" setting.
If you go here in the control panel, you can set it to 40. Then this thread is only 10 pages long. I'm not entirely sure how anyone can work with the defaults - all that back and forwarding would do my head in!

As for attributes themselves - can't help you! They are a mystery to themselves and people from MENSA who may be able to work them out! Roll on the Wiki :)

    Eden-

Sorry, but stock by attributes is not yet available in the core. It is scheduled for a future release.

Is it possible to have attributes affect the prices of other attributes? For example, if I was selling Pizza:
    Attributes: Size (Sm/Md/Lg/XL), Topping 1, Topping 2

Now, if the customer wanted a small pizza, the price of Sausage as Topping 1 would be +$1.00, but if the customer wants an extra large pizza, the Sausage as Topping 1 would be +$3.00.

Is Zen-Cart able to have attributes that depend on each other? For example, say I have a SIZE attribute and depending on which size they select, the COLOR attribute will have a different selection.

If they choose Large, it could have Blue and Yellow as a COLOR choice. If they choose Small, it could have Black and Green as a color choice.

    Is this possible?

I have a question about some order options and wonder if Attrivutes would help at all.

My customer wants to sell their items in cases, and offer discounts for ordering multiple cases. Like:

Say each case holds 10 of the item.

    CASES.......UNITS....................DISCOUNT............UNIT COST
    1 to 9 .....10 to 90 units ........30% discount.........$15.95/ea
    10-19.......100 to 190 units ...40% discount..........$14.95/ea
    20-39.......200 to 390 units.....50% discount.........$13.95/ea

(there are shipping charges per case, but maybe that's another post, eh?)

Can Zen Cart support this and if it is the Attributes Controller, pls help me see how it applies.

    TIA

If you set the Minimum to 10 and Units to 10 ... you can then configure the Discount Quanties ...

Customers will have to buy in units of 10 and the discounts will apply based on how many they buy ...

    Hi,

That's in the product record, as opposed to the Attributes Controller, right? I see the fields there, or am I mixed up (b/c I don;t see the discounts there).

If I also sell the product in single units, do I have to make another product record, or can I handle both type of sales from one record?

How are your products setup now?

What is your starting price on this?
