    Default Converting to Template_Default

    Hello Ojii-san here again,

I'm not trying to create a custom template which is mentioned in the FAQ. I've read quite many people seem to be suggesting not to use Classic and convert to Template_Default. How do I go about doing that?

    Thanks,
    Ojii-san

Kim's response was an answer to your questions, just maybe a little unexpected. If you are using the latest version of Zen Cart anyway, the quickest way to convert from Classic to template_default, is to start with a fresh custom template.

Although starting from the beginning again may sound like a lot of work. Building designs in template_default is much faster than the table-based classic and will pay dividends in the future in terms of the maintainability of your site, its upgradability and your skilset.

Search in forums for member kuroi
In his signature is link to his future-zen template,
based on Classic, but coded for ZenCart 1.3*
This template will give you a head start

Thank you all for being so patient with me!

I was struggling with Kuroi's Future_Zen template for a bit. I switched it back to Classic and the page appear to look more organized than Kuroi's. It's totally due to my lack of skill, not blaming the custome template.

    I guess I'll go back to Kuroi's.

I've read a PHP and SQL book a bit, pretty easy language. I thought I was ready to build a store, dead wrong!

    Frustrated!

Actually it's easy to build a store with Zen Cart. What's difficult is learning how . Persist, tap into our knowledge by asking questions here, persist some more, and you'll get there.
